Web Hosting is the service of making a web page viewable to other people on the internet. There are several different options for customers as to how they get their website hosted. Sometimes your Internet Service Provider (such as AT&T or AOL), will make a limited amount of web space available to you as part of your subscription fee.
Other businesses also provide web hosting, either for free or as a paid service. If you decide to sign up for a free package you will likely have advertisements and pop-ups placed on your site as part of the arrangement. If you pay a company to host your site, you will have full control over exactly what goes on it, plus the ability of choosing your own domain name.
